October Update: Settling In

This is going to mostly be a picture post. But first a few words,

We haven’t had a full regular week at school for the past few weeks. Between the Outdoor Education events for grades K-8, Dia de los Mercedes, in-services for curriculum writing, TAKS testing (standardized testing to check where our students at and see what we need to teach), and now this week having a expeditionary learning advisor come and do workshops and teach model lessons, every week has been full of something different (and a lot less classes to plan for). It makes me feel a little loopy, not ever really knowing what I need to be doing or preparing for. But for the most part the days are going by fast. Like surprisingly fast. In just a couple weeks we’ll be introducing the expeditions for the year and then…gosh it will be even crazier on campus.

I’m still struggling with feeling unconfident in myself and my own knowledge/ability to do the tasks I’ve been given and then feeling so confident in God’s great power and might to work through me even though I lack muchisimo. I trust that the Lord brought us here during this specific time for reasons that are beyond me. I just have to keep trusting that…

Alright on with the pictures!

Here are some before/after pictures of our house. We acquired the house with some wack paint jobs inside. So we repainted one of the first weekends we were here. The recovering of the couches, homemade shelves, and other things were added over the last month.

This is the most recent awesome thing Franny has figured out how to do :)

This is a view from a hike we took on our day off a few weeks ago. We hiked up a small mountain right outside of town, called Mogote. Yes, it is the infamous Mogote.

This is Keith's lastest haircut...a la flashback Kerrie

Just kidding...I finished buzzing it all :)

Peace and Love, K
